Kyaw Swa PU joined SSMT Myanmar Co. Ltd. in 2018 in his capacity as Senior Legal Consultant. He was Head of UNHCR Kuajok Field Office South Sudan from 2015 to 2017. He used to work with UNHCR in Myanmar as National Legal Officer from 2010 to 2014. As the focal person for Housing, Land and Property analyzed an overview of HLP issues as these relate to persons of concern in Myanmar outlining risks and challenges for each of the situations and suggested a way forward for UNHCR in addressing these issues.

Prior to that he was a Finance and Administrative Officer of ILO in Myanmar from 2003 to 2009 during which he conducted legal research works relating to labour matters in Myanmar vis-a vis the international labour conventions. During the year 1994-2002, he was a Field Assistant in UNHCR Field Office in Maungdaw. He was assigned as Acting Assistant Director of the Political Parties Delegates Group of the Office of the National Convention Work Committee in 1993. He was Legal Officer of the Office of the Foreign Investment Commission (from 1990 to 1992). During 1982 to 1989, he was posted to various part of the country including the Law Drafting and Legal Opinion Department. Prior to that he was Assignment Tutor of Law Department of Yangon University.

He is a holder of Certificate (Diploma) in International Labour Standard, Diploma certificate holder in Specialization course in Management of Local Development of the Delnet Programme (ITC Turin) and holder of Certificate on Middle Management Learning Programme 9-month distance learning Course (UNHCR).
